Description
Nearly 10 million teens have eating disorders or abnormal behaviors when dealing with food and the problems often start at much younger ages. Dr. Cora Breuner talks about the warning signs. There are 3 types of eating disorder - anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa and binge eating disorder. Kids as young as 8 years old may develop body distortions and eating disorders. Some of the causes include genetics, psychological, and environmental. Warning signs include weight loss, preference to eat in isolation, feeling fat when you're not, swollen cheeks from vomiting, etc. About 10% of eating disordered children are boys.
