Description
Obesity rates have rapidly increased over the past three decades for all Americans and have doubled for children. Overweight children are significantly more likely to become overweight adults. Moreover, the health consequences of pediatric obesity are dire and it is predicted that they will overtake deaths due to smoking in the coming decade. The Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt and the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine hosted a forum on pediatric obesity Oct. 15.
