Description

A couple of papers were published in normal individuals showed that increased phosphatemia were associated with increased cardiovascular and all cause mortality. Increased phosphates are well known to be associated with mortality in dialysis patients. Adverse outcomes cannot be shown to be reduced with phosphate binders. Studies also do not address specific phosphate binders. We need better dialysis rather than more studies on phosphate binders.
