Description

While the skin, hair and nails have been adorned and pampered for centuries, the skin is the window to the inside of the human body. Patients and practitioners of medicine have been able to use the skin as a marker for diseases of the human being. This lecture will look at the skin's basic structure and explore the various elements that model what occurs in the other systems of the human body, such as the immune system. Skin cancer and the risk factors for developing it also will be covered. Series: "UCSF Mini Medical School for the Public" [5/2003] [Health and Medicine] [Professional Medical Education] [Show ID: 7203]
