Description

In the emergency room, one million patients are evaluated annually for chest pain. Unfortunately, 2 to 5 % of them are sent home despite their having an acute myocardial ischemia (MI) or heart attack. This talk will go over the shortcomings of the current methods using Troponin necrosis biomarkers, and delve into cutting edge tests which may be able to improve the time to diagnosis of acute MI by using either radiographic technique or advanced ischemic biomarkers as opposed to necrosis markers.
