Description
In "The Psychology of the Heart," Dr. Joel Dimsdale describes how stress and depression do have links to heart disease. Stress and depression may be risk factors for heart disease, just like smoking, high blood pressure, blood levels of good cholesterol, etc. Research results are mixed in this area, however. But for people with existing heart disease, stress and depression have been shown to aggravate the condition.
